Buildings with complex horizontal and vertical circulation routes can present special wayfinding challenges. These projects often begin with documented demolition plans outlining the old systems that need to be removed before new ones can be implemented. Sequential room numbering plans and standardization of nomenclature are important elements that need to be addressed prior to design development. In addition to directional and ID signage, public spaces require ADA-compliant braille signs and code specific fire and safety related signs.
