John Crank is the founder and president of The 1717 Design Group. Crank’s business leadership and design skills have been a constant denominator in the success of the firm throughout its twenty three-year corporate evolution. He has worked on over fifty permanent, traveling and temporary exhibition projects and art directed countless publications and identity programs. His work has been honored by Print Case Books, the American Association of Museums, the Type Directors Club, Print magazine and is featured in the permanent collection of the Library of Congress. Crank received his BA in Fine Art from Lynchburg College and his MFA in Graphic Design from Indiana University.
Many talented designers have made significant contributions to the development of our projects. Those who now form The 1717 Design Group, as well as those who preceded them, are collectively responsible for the ongoing success of our work.
