Visitors to the International Bluegrass Music Museum, located on the banks of the Ohio River in downtown Owensboro, can experience the atmosphere and excitement of an outdoor festival, listen to classic songs performed by Bluegrass legends and explore the rich history of the Bluegrass music industry courtesy of a $3 million grant from the Kentucky General Assembly. In addition to 10,000 SF of interpretive history exhibitions, 1717 was commissioned to create the reception area and gift shop. A unique circular desk, supported by alternating banjo and mandolin cutouts, was designed to accommodate both the ticketing process and retail operation.
